Mr. and Mrs. George Gabbitas have returned from a few weeks' visit with relatives and friends in California. Mrs. Everett Billings returned this week from Ephraim, where she has spent the past ten days with her daughter, Hannah Marie, who is attending Snow college. V Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harmer and children of Layton, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Harmer at Mapleton, and Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Peterson, here. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Smith (Betty Blanchard) of Tooele, visited vis-ited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard, and other relatives rela-tives and friends here over the weekend. - Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson and Mrs. Lois Child ana Daoy accompanied accom-panied Earl Child to Salt Lake City Thursday, on his return to the Navy. He is stationed at Far-ragut, Far-ragut, Idaho. Mrs. Alice Averett returned on Tuesday from Aurora, where she visited a daughter, Mrs. Ray Mason, Mas-on, and family for several days and also a'ttended a reunion of the Mason family while there. Mrs. Frank W. Bishop, the former for-mer Cleo Thorpe, has returned from San Antonio, Texas, where she has been visiting her husband and plans to remain here for the duration. Louise Long and Venice Pennington, Pen-nington, employed in Salt Lake City, .visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Long, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pennington. Helen Christensen and Louise Clyde, from the University of Utah, spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Christensen, and Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Clyde. Their guest during dur-ing the weekend was Evelyn Lay- fon from the U. Mrs. Dean Mason, the former Emma Graves, has returned to Springville to make her home after af-ter spending several months with her husband in Chicago, 111. She was accompanied by Nona Hatfield, Hat-field, who has been visiting here the past few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bird of Mapleton were in Provo Monday, where they attended a dinner given giv-en by Mrs. Bird's sister, Mrs. Del-mar Del-mar Carter, in honor of an aunt, Mrs. Ruby Baum of Ashton, Ida., who is visiting in Provo. All of the brothers and sisters were guests. Harry Dumford, switchman for the Union Pacific railroad, residing resid-ing in Springville, has just returned re-turned from an enjoyable vacation vaca-tion trip to niinois and Missouri, where he visited relatives and friends. He went first to Rawlins, Wyo., and took his mother, Mrs. Bertha .llen, from there, on the remainder of the trip. He reports travel congested in every state and the weather even colder than Utah with snow, wind and high water in some places. |
