Show Generous Response Reported From Several Chairmen Red Cross collections thus far are very gratifying, according to Paul C. Miner, general chairman, who stated Wednesday, that a number of - committee chairmen had completed their districts, while others would be through within the next few days. The third ward has completed its drive under the direction of Mrs. Cleonda Miner, and made an excellent report, Mr. Miner stated. stat-ed. If other ward districts do as good as the Third ward, the town will go over the top in the drive, he stated. Also, the Junior Chamber of Commerce in charge of the business busi-ness houses, has completed its drive and made a fine report of collections, it was reported. Paul Thorn, who was to contact the contractors during the campaign, has also completed his work and generous contributions were reported. From Thistle comes a request for more Red Cross supplies, indicating in-dicating that that district is doing a fine job also, said Mr. Miner. With a total of more than $7000 to be raised in the Springville Spring-ville district, including Mapleton and Thistle, every family and every individual is being requested request-ed to contribute generously to this campaign. With 87 per cent of the amount collected to go directly for the benefit of the boys in the service, no better place for one's contributions contri-butions could be found than with the Red Cross. The drive is to be concluded March 31, and all contributions must be in by the latter part of this week, Chairman Miner stated. |
