Show REVISION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT BEING COMPLETED An interdenominational committee com-mittee of eighteen Greek and biblical bib-lical scholars, representing various Protestant organizations, has completed com-pleted seven years' work and their revised version of the New Testament Testa-ment is ready for printing when the paper shortage and other war- " time factors permit. The principal reason for the revision, re-vision, according to Dean Luther A. Weigle, of the Yale Divinity School, chairman of the Revision committee, is the discovery of ancient an-cient Greek writings in Egypt and elsewhere, which explain many words not heretofore understood in original manuscripts. While the new version is considered con-sidered modern, it will retain the essential charactcrirticn of the King James version. The committee commit-tee thinks that it will "carry what the Bible has to say as no other translation does." |
