Show GREEK FACTIONS 4 MAKING PEACE In his address before the House of Commons, delivered in late February, Feb-ruary, Prime Minister Winston Churchill referred to internal conditions con-ditions of Greece, where the German Ger-man invader "watches with contemptuous con-temptuous complacency Greek killing Greek with munitions sent to them for the purpose of killing Germans." The United Nations were disappointed disap-pointed to see confusion and internecine inter-necine strife break out in Greece, "attended by so many instances of treachery and violence." The' latest lat-est information, however, indicates indi-cates that Greek factions have responded re-sponded to the pleas of Allied statesmen and composed their differences, dif-ferences, thus ending one of the saddest chapters in the nation's history. A dispatch from Egypt says that representatives of the three principal Greek groups met in a mountain fastness and in the presence pres-ence of United States and British army officers, pledged peaceful cooperation in an effort to eliminate elimi-nate the common enemy. |
