Show WM. WHITEHEAD. SR. DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS William Whitehead Sr., 71, died Monday at tye family residence, 502 North Main street, after a lingering lin-gering illness. A son of James and Amelia Brindle Whitehead, he was born July 6, 1872, at Sugarhouse, Utah, and moved to Springville in the Spring of 1877, with his parents. He worked with his father in the Springville woolen mills for a number of years, and later engaged en-gaged in farming. He was a member mem-ber of the L. D. S. church and served as Springville city councilman council-man for eight years. He married Mary Alice Barkdull, Feb. 8, 1901. He is survived by his widow, one daughter and five sons, Mrs. Golden Smith, Provo; Lloyd and Clifton Whitehead, Salt Lake City; Grant and William White, head Jr., Springville; James M. Whitehead, serving with the U. S. Navy; also six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. James Straw and Mrs. Mary Bird, Springville; Mrs. Gertrude B. Close and Joseph B. Whitehead, Los Angeles, Calif.; George R. Meservy, Salt Lake City; Lambert Lam-bert M. Whitehead, Twin Falls, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Friday at 2 p. m., in the Third ward chapel, directed by Bishop G. Ray Hales. Friends may call at the A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary from 6 to 9 p. m., Thursday, and at the family residence before the services. |
