Show Dairy Cattle In County To Be Tested for T. B. Plans are under way for a periodcial test of all dairy cattle in Utah county for tuberculosis beginning be-ginning Monday, Nov. 26, according accord-ing to an announcement made from the county agents' office today. to-day. The last test was completed in 1949, and is done every three years under the direction of the Bureau of Animal Industry, and the Utah State Department of Agriculture. The test will be free of charge, ' assisted by local veterinarians. Noble DeHart of the county agents' office will cooperate with Di Twitchell in preparing schedules sched-ules and the office of Utah County Commission will prepare them and send them out. The veterinarians will test and then read their tests 72 hours thereafter. Owners of dairy cows will receive a notice through the mail for the time scheduled and are expected to have the cows tied up, or in a stanchion, to ex-pediate ex-pediate the handling of the cattle. This is a part of a nation-wide program to eradicate tuberculosis. The time set to acredit Utah county is Feb. 1, 1952. Any dairyman who desires a test for bangs is invited to notify the veterinarian orf the first visit so that arrangements can be made to take care of it. |
