Show Rate Reduction Saving For Turkey Producers Utah's turkey and poultry producers pro-ducers will be saved an estimated $70,000 during the next 12 months as a result of a reduction in freight rates on all processed poultry shipped east, according to R. L. McDonough, traffic manager for Utah Poultry & Farmers Cooperative, Cooper-ative, who was responsible for obtaining ob-taining the freight reduction. Ever since revised trans-continental freight schedules went into operation last July, Utah producers produ-cers have been forced to pay the same rate as producers on the coast for shipments to the east. Mr. McDonough made a series of vigorous protests that resulted in a special public meeting being set by the Western Trunk Line Traffic Traf-fic Managers Committee in Chicago. |
