Show SAVES COPPER The heavy drain on short U. S. copper resources will be eased by a revolutionary design for large turbifte generators developed by an Eastern company. The new design will reduce by 50 the amount of copper required re-quired for such units, leaving the other 50 for use by defense agencies. The savings will1 be made through a newly-developed system for cooling the generators. The cooling is now accomplished by passing hydrogen through hollow tubes instead of over the solid copper coils formerly used. |
