Show Mrs. Helen Rowland Named President OfUncoln PTA Mrs. Helen Rowland was elected elect-ed president of the Lincoln school PTA at a meeting conducted last Wednesday evening. She succeeds Mrs. Edna Thorpe. Other officers elected include, Mrs. Louise Weight, first vice-president; vice-president; Frank Patten and Mrs. Edna Thorpe, second and third vice presidents; Mrs. Maryn S. Johnson, secretary. During the meeting Mrs. Don Taylor of Provo, regional director direct-or of PTA, spoke on the purposes of the organization. She stressed the fact that Parent-Teacher or-, ganizations should be effected to bring the home and schools closer together and they should work for cooperation in problems which effect both. Students from the school furnished fur-nished the program which included includ-ed a vocal duet, Gale Ferguson and Marilyn Thorpe; a vocal solo, Gene Smith. Also a group of Sixth grade girls entertained with a vocal number. During the evening also by-laws were presented and approved. |
