Show Kolob Stake Male Chorus To Sing For Building Benefit, Next Wed. The Kolob Stake Male Chorus, a talented group of men, under direction of Golden Hansen, are scheduled sche-duled to nresent a concert next Wednesday evening, j,April 26, as a benefit for the new Stake house and the Fifth and Sixth wards. The concert will be given at 8 p.m., in the Fourth ward hall and an invitation is given the general public to attend. Guest artist for the evening will be Miss lone Duncan of Salt Lake City, noted contralto, who will be accompanied by Mrs. Lois White Lizez, equally known pianist. Miss Duncan, who has been heard by many is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music of New York. She is a charter member mem-ber of the Little Theatre of Salt Lake City and a former member of the general board of M. I. A. Recently Miss Duncan has been heard in solo roles in Mozart's Requiem; Re-quiem; in the Messiah and in many other musical renditions in Salt Lake City. She also took the lead in Mozart's, "Marriage of Figaro" recently in Salt Lake City. Gordon Childs, Springville musician mu-sician will also be featured as the guest violinist accompanied by his brother Douglas. Miss Jane Norton of this city, will be the accompanish for the chorus. Among the well know compositions composi-tions which will be presented by the chorus during the evening will be, "The Lord's Prayer", by Mal-lotte; Mal-lotte; "The Erkling", by Schubert, Miss Duncan, contralto; Mrs Lizez, accompanist; "The Lost Chord", by Sullivan; "Cool Water", by Sullivan Sul-livan with Scott Thorn to sing the solo part; "Ride The Chariot", spiritual, George Naylor, soloist; "The Last Song," by Tosti; "Syl-( "Syl-( Continued on Page Two) Chorus To Sing Continued from Page One) via," by Speaks; "You'll . It will be a rare musical treat for all who attend and at the same time patrons will be assisting assist-ing with the building of the new church. All members of all wards in the stake are urged to attend. |
