Show R. Ward Webb Files For County Commission Job R. Ward Webb, Lehi, well-known civic leader, farmer, cattleman and church worker, announces that he has filed as a Republican candidate can-didate for the office of 4-year . ,K R. Ward Webb Utah County Commissioner and will seek election in balloting this fall. Mr. Webb attended the Lehi schools and L. D. S. Business college. col-lege. Numbered among offices held are president of the local board of Utah Poultry Producers, local chairman of AAA committee and Director of the Lehi Irrigation Company for 10 years. He filled an L. D. S. mission to Canada, has served as a High Councilman of Lehi Stake and is at present Bishop of the Lehi First Ward. Mr. Webb is a member of the Lehi Riding club, presently serving as captain. New tax billing and accounting account-ing systems have been installed, commercial properties have been equalized and a general survey of buildings have been made, the last general survey being made in 1934 and 1935. The volume of business has reached an all time high and is still moving upward. This volume has been handled with speed and efficiency by the installation of the new equipment. The automobile automo-bile tax lines have been almost eliminated. Mr. Cope served nearly two years in the U. S. armed forces during World War II. He saw active duty in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre with the 13th Air Cargo Re-supply Squadron. He is a member mem-ber of the American Legion and has been affiliated with the Veterans Vet-erans of Foreign Wars, Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis club. He received the Distinguished Service. Key Award in 1946 from the Spanish Fork Junior Chamber of Commerce as the outstanding young man of the year in his community. com-munity. In 1948 Mr. Cope was state chairman of the National Association Assoc-iation of Assessing Officers and is now a member of a special committee on heavy construction equipment of the same organization. organiza-tion. He was graduated from the Erigham Young University High School in 1936 and attended the Erigham Young University from 1936 to 1938. Mr. Cope married the former Florence Fairbanks of Salt Lake City.
