Show TINTIC 5TSI01B STOCK ME Near Completion of New Railroad Given as Cause for Raise. EUREKA, Dec. 6. A general impi element ele-ment in underground conditions, a higher price for silver, which means much heavier earnings, and the fact that tiie new railroad is nearly finished undoubt-ly undoubt-ly account for tho advance in tho price of shares in the Tintic Standard mine. Ore hauling troubles ought to end January Jan-uary 1. and, with the ore going directly from the ore bins into the railroad ears, there will be nothing to interfere with a heavier output. The transportation problem was a serious se-rious one for the Tintic Standard people, ! their mine being located somo miles from the railroad, hut it will be solved when the first string of freight cars is switched over to the ore bins. It is barely possible pos-sible that the railroad will be finished within the next two weeks, but, allowing for delays, the line will be completed by the end of the year. 1 It is stated on good authority that the mine's, output will be greatly increased with the advent of the railroad. The company's treasury Is in excellent shape and shareholders are expecting something extra in the dividend line for Christmas. The south shaft of the Tintic Standard company, which is being sunk under contract, con-tract, is now down a distance of about , 160 feet below the 1000 level, and, accord -' ing to Superintendent Westerdahl, 1 his piece of work is progressing nicely. This shaft will be sent on down to the same depth as the other working from which 1 the Tintic Standard people are taking the ore in the northern end of their property, and sinking operations will bo followed by a very extensive campaign of prospecting. pros-pecting. Connection will also be made with the levels from which the mine's output of ore is now coming, thus giving the workings much better ventilation. |
