Show IDAHO IS RAPIDLY NEARING THE "TOP" BOISE, Ida., May 8. Early reports tonight to-night officially report eight Idaho counties coun-ties over the top on their Victory loan quotas. Counties with full allotment raised nre: Payette, Bingham, Bonner, Butte, Gem, Teton, Oneida and Valley. Payette county retains first honors, ko far, on amount of oversubscription proportionate pro-portionate with its quota, havjner turned in $28,000 more than Its allotment. The Oregon Short Line ran four special trains over Idaho 0 visions soie'y in Interest In-terest of increasing subscriptions from railroad employees with splendid results, the train operating between Poealello and Huntington secured $40,000 subscriptions subscrip-tions from railroad men working in all departments, moat of whom already had subscribed. Ada county la within J100.000 'of its quota and County Chairman Newhouse pledged to state headquarters that the total would be raised before the close of the drive. With hank returns and unofficial estimate esti-mate of unreported subscriptions, Idaho is within ten per cent of her allotment. State Chairman Gwinn has asked all county and precinct workers to get bank reports to headauarters at the earliest possible instant, being ambitious to establish es-tablish Idaho in second place in the Twelfth federal reserve. |
