Show Success Crowns Father's Quest for Sons Grave (Chicago Tribune Cable, Copyright.) PARIS, May 8. As a result of two weeks' searching on the battlefields battle-fields of the Mouse, Wilbert W. White of New York has discovered the unmarked grave of his son, Wilbert Wil-bert W. Wbito, American ace, killed in a headon collision in midair with a liun on October 10. The second day of the search Dr. White chanced on a metal tag bearing bear-ing the number of the machine his sen wa-s flying when killed. It was j several dnys later, however, when Captain Reed Chambers, who had fought, by the side of V.hite, noted what he thought was a grave under a pile of wire. A detail of soldiers i exhumed the body, identified it and i rcburied it in the great cemetery at I Romangc. j Ou Sunday the father received j from General Patrick of the air scrv- I ice a distinguished service cross, with maple leaf, awarded to his heroic he-roic airman sou in the battles of St. Mihiel and the Argonnc. j |
