Show WESTMINSTER GIVES RHETORICAL PROGRAM The first rhetorical program of the yaar was presented yesterday afternoon by the students of Westminster college. Professor Profes-sor Herbert Wolfe presided as chairman of the rri'-etlng. which was opened by a reading 6f the governor's Thanksgiving proclamation by Milton Eilcks. Miss Jam? Greetl read a Thanksgiving essay, picturing pictur-ing the history of the day, which was followed fol-lowed by a declamation by Cecil Scherer. The topic of current event's was presented by Miss 1 lolen Kd wards, followed by a Thanksgiving declamation by Miss Gladys HuckvaJe. An original storv of Thanks-Kivlng Thanks-Kivlng was presented by Miss Elizabeth M-'Leese. A debate on the question, "Should we have more t ban one day for Thanksgiving?" Thanksgiv-ing?" was the next number. The affirmative affir-mative was upheld by Kvan Reynolds with Vernon K. Allen contending for the negative. nega-tive. No decision was given. The next number consisted of the presentation of a miniature newspaper. Miss Alta Kdwards Kd-wards ha ndled the news and the society notes were presented by Miss Leona Sut -tie.. The Joke roluimi was edited by Paul Qiberson. The next program will he held a week preceding the Christmas holidays. |
