Show Thanksgiving Play Dinners Enjoyed by Tots; Stewart Pupils Prepare Tempting Menus CHILDREN of the second grade of the William M. THANKSGIVING play dinners were enjoyed by the kindergarten and first, second and third grade pupils pu-pils of the William M. Stewart training school of the University of Utah yesterday. The second grade pupils entertained the third grade pupils, pu-pils, and served homemade cake and preserved fruit which they had put up. The place cards also were made by the children. Under the direction of Miss 'Maud Hardman, teacher, the play dinner was greatly enjoyed and the heads of the five tables served as hostesses. The kindergarten department, under the direction of Miss Rose Jones, supervisor, super-visor, assisted by Miss Vesta Kdwards and Miss Bessie Nlckerson, and the girls in training In the kindergarten department, depart-ment, managed the play dinner for the smaller tots. The University of Utah kindergarten pupils entertained the kindergarten children of the Twelfth school district. A long table occupied the center of the large, well-lighted room and was spread with dainties made by the children, principally prin-cipally consisting of bottled plums, graham crackers and apples. One little chap took a birthday cake, which he Insisted In-sisted on cutting and serving In small pieces to nearly all present. The kiddies had the lime of their lives, and many of the most prominent families in the city were represented In the younger generation. genera-tion. A charitable act of the William M. Stewart school pupils is thut of supporting support-ing a French war orphan, Master Tlerre Ferranders of 25 Rue de la Mur. Marseilles. Mar-seilles. Bouchesdue. France, who yesterday yester-day was sent his Christmas gift from his benefactors. The present Included a hand-woven book bag, a Christinas picture pic-ture horse lines made of spool threaded bv the smaller kiddies, and goodies. The upkeep of the little orphan is raised by the children of the school donating pennies and nickels which otherwise would go for candy. |
