Show TINTiC STANDARD HAUL SDDRTENED New Body of Ore Reached on 1350 Level, Officials .... . : Say. j . . EUREKA, Nov. 15. Ore from the Tintic Tin-tic Standard Is now being loaded on the railroad cars at the new loading station, near the Miller ranch, and this means that the truck haul has been greatly shortened. The old loading station was located on I the Tintic line of the Rio Grande railroad, approximately six miles from the mine, and the new loading point is on the new i-ast Tintic railroad. By the construction construc-tion of the new loading station, the haul has been reduced to aoout a mile and a half and the trucks are now making eignt to ten round trips per shift. This new station is but a temporary aflair, but it has:ost the Tintic Standard quite a sum of money. The company owning the trucks, which are operating under contract, will benefit materially by the change, as the mining company Is paying but 25 cents per ton less than I when the longer haul was necessary. The mine officials are quite anxious to increase in-crease the output, and it is hoped that bv the early part of the coming week the trucks will be hauling not less than four carloads of ore per day. The shipments for he present week are expected to amount to about twenty carloads. Superintendent Jonn Westerdahl says that the ore now being shipped from the Tintic Standard is coming from four different points in the underground workings, work-ings, the 1250, the 1350, No. 5 north and the No. 5 east. The new bunch of ore which was recently encountered on the 1330 level, and a short distance to the southeast of the older workings of the mine, is opening up splendidly. It has been developed by drifting operations and in the near future stoping will be started on this ore. The work of cutting out a large station on the level below will be completed within a very short time, and immediately thereafter drifts will be sent out after the ore. i In the south end of the Tinctic Standard Stand-ard property the only work at the present time Is the sinking of the No. 1 shaft. This shaft, which was temporarily abandoned aban-doned after the new shaft was sunk and connected up with the ore, was later enlarged en-larged and retimbered to a depth of 1000 feet, and contractors are now sending It on down to the" 1500 level. The present depth of the shaft Is 1090 feet. |
