Show ZUHH DHIFT CUTS I VEIN OFQUARTZ Loose Ground With Frequent Fre-quent Caves Encountered; Mineralization Increases. During the week an Important change took place In the south drift on the 800 level of the Zuma property, says the Eureka Reporter, and some very good ore Is now scattered .through the three-foot body of quartz which the drift has been following. Manager Fennell unhesitatingly unhesitating-ly says that the showing is better than a'nythlng that the Zuma has previously had and that the outlook for getting an ore body at that depth could hardly be better. , . For some time the Zuma people hare been driving two drifts on their 800 level, one toward the south and the other headed head-ed out toward the west. As stated above, It was in the south drift that the ore made its appearance, and the character of the rock is quite different from tnat found above the 800 level. Copper values appear on the footwall and the entire quartz deposit seems to be impregnated with lead and silver values. The ground is loose and small caves have been encountered. en-countered. The work Is being handled under contract and, while the values are not sufficiently concentrated to make it possible to save any commercial ore, it is quite apparent that the development work at the Zuma has reached a most important stase and that there will soon be something better to report, perhaps when the first cross-break is reached. |
