Show PROGRESS AT ALTA TUNNEL EXCELLENT Contractors at the Alta Tunnel & Transportation Trans-portation company's properly In the Sil-I Sil-I ver Fork of Big Cottonwood canyon have driven the east drift In the direction of the Prince of Wales workings more than seventy feet since the beginning of their 200-foot contract, according to Manager F. V. Bod fish. In doing this work a large amount cf milling ore has been taken out and many small bunches of high grade uncovered. The drift is still following the hanging wall and all the country shown by the south side of the drift is vein matter sprinkled with lead and silver and full of bug boles. How far the foot fall is from the drift wfll not be known until cross-cutting cross-cutting is undertaken. Mr. Bodfish is confident that ihe drift will soon pick up one of the ore shoots, or chimneys, mined near the surface in the early "days by the Prince of Wales company, and is highly pleased with the rapid progress in the drift. |
