Show TO THE RESCUE. Unless there is a more liberal response re-sponse to the Ked Cross appeal for funds upon the pnrt of citizens Suit Lake county will fail to go "over the top" for the first time in its history, and a brilliant patriotic record will be marred. This should not be the outcome out-come of the present drive. The American Amer-ican Ked Cross is the greatest and most powerful organization of its kind in the world and the good it has accomplished accom-plished in the past five years cannot be measured by mere words. Much remains re-mains to be done both atnjliomo and abroad and preparations must be made for future catastrophes and calamities which are sure to come unheralded and without warning. By subscribing to the lied Cross fund we are insuring the people of our own country against woe and suffering iu time of disaster, for Ked Cross relief is always first to arrive ar-rive when physicians and nurses and food and clothing are needed. The people of Utah have been very generous gener-ous in times past in coming to the support sup-port of their government and the various vari-ous charitable and war service organizations organi-zations and the state has gained great prominence by reason of this fact. Let it not be said that we became weary of well doing and faltered when the men and women, of other communities were still going strong. Only two days of the campaign remain. We are not required to "give until it hurts," but to subscribe to a most worthy cause in accordance wirh our means. |
