Federal control of the public domain do-main would increase the meat supply from 40 to 50 per cent in four or five-years. five-years. " Benefits Forecast. He said federal control would do more to increase the growth of the cattle industry in-dustry than any one thing. Among the many benefits to be derived from such a law would be the elimination of dissension dis-sension among sheep and cattle growers as to seniority rights. -According to Mr. Mullen, it is planned to have the domain administered in the same way as the forest reserve, grazers to pay for the permit to run their stock on the land. In the event that the stockgrowers are successful in obtaining legislation for the control of the public lands, he said, efforts will be made to have at least one-fourth of the taxes paid for grazing privileges revert to the state in which the stock run. |
