Show SEARCH FOR JEWELS STOLElJffiG FIRE Police and Sheriff's Office Probe Friday Blazes in Ogden. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN', July 20. Members of the police po-lice department are continuing the search of the hallways of the Marion hotel for the 31000 worth of diamond rings which were stolen from Mrs. Mary Couch, Columbia, Co-lumbia, Mo., during the fire Friday night. The police allege that Louis Latis, who was arrested during the fire, may be able to give information as to the jewelry, which includes three diamond rings, one ring with a setting of emerald and diamonds dia-monds and one ring with a setting of L, amethyst and diamonds. The officers say w they are holding Latis in connection with the investigation of thefts from several of the rooms of the hotel. In connection with the fire at the Marion Mari-on and the C. J. Humphris lumber yards and mill, the police department and the sheriff's office are continuing investigations investiga-tions expected to result in the apprehension apprehen-sion of a trio alleged to have been connected con-nected with the firing of the planing mill. It was claimed the fire in the Marion hotel started in the basement and was burning up partitions toward the upper floors. |
