COAST UNIVERSITY ELECTS PRESIDENT SAX .FRANCISCO, Dec. 2. Dr. David P. Barrows was named president of the University of California here today, by a unanimous vote of the board of regents. Dr. Barrows is also head of the American Ameri-can Legion in California. He came to the university to fill the chair of education in Win, after having graduated from the institution fifteen years before. He has decrees from Pomona, Po-mona, Columbia and Chicago. As city superintendent of schools in Manila and chief of the bureau of non-Christian non-Christian tribes in the Philippines, Dr. Barrows won great credit. When the war between the United Slates and Germany broke out Dean Barrows Bar-rows was commissioned a colonel and served in Siberia. Dr. Barrows is 46 years old, a native of Chicago, and married.
