That the investigation investiga-tion of the hig-h cost of living in Oijden is a 7natter for the state authorities and not the city, was the opinion expressed to the board of city commissioners today by 'V. Tl. Reeder. Jr., city attorney, when he recommended that the petition of the Retail Merchants of Ogden, asking the investigation, in-vestigation, he filed. In the matter of the petition of John S. Lnwis and -others asking the city to widen Merchants' alley, the city attorney recommended recom-mended that the abutting proptrtv owners own-ers buy u j the property necessary for the improvements. He held that condemnation condemna-tion proceed'ngs would be too expensive to warrant the city in undertaking the work'. The city attorney's recommendation recommenda-tion was adopted. |
