The following fees for May were reported collected by county officers at the meeting of the board of county commissioners held today: Re- I corder, S5S7.30; clerk, $461; treasurer, $17. I Treasurer W. L. Openshaw reported an ; overdraft of ?23. 126.55 in the general fund and $1,355.45 on hand In the county school fund. Reports on road sprinkling tax elections In Pleasant View, Lake View and Vineyard Vine-yard pre'.incts showed that the election carried by a big majority in each precinct. The levy in the Pleasant View precinct was reduced from 3 to 1 mills on application appli-cation cf J. K. Booth and other taxpayers. Mrs. Martha Davis, by her attorney, Harry Cluff , presented a claim for $250 for personal injuries ; referred to the county attorney. Mrs. Davis claims she sustained injuries by being thrown against a wire fence from a buggy in which she was riding at Pleasant View March 2S, through the horse becoming frightened,, and that the horse became frightened at a large tree stump which was lying in the road. Registration agents were appointed throughout the county for the following two years. A resolution was adopted, asking the resignation of Ben E. Argyle as road supervisor su-pervisor and notifying all persons who are doing work on the county roads, that all work except emergency work, is suspended. sus-pended. The reason for the resolution was I stated in the resolution to be that the : funds for road purposes is exhausted. The members of the board expect to look after the emergency that must be done in their respective districts. |
