Show PRDKOUKGQ) SUCCESS; Thousands Enjoy the' Hospitality Hos-pitality of the Little City at Big Fete. Special to The Tribune. L'RIGitAM CITY. Sept. 19. Peach day was celebrated to.lay with an attendance of thousands of visitors. The festivi-ics were officially opened by a monster parade that moved north on Main street at 11 a. m. The parade was formed at the Central school on Third South, and the. line of march was north to First North, counter march to Forest street and west to the city park. At the park all the .n-vn elaborate floats were placed on exhibition during the day. Ku"h of the seven divisions divi-sions in the rase ant was headed by a band,, and altogether the papeant formed a spectacle that won the admiration of the vast crowds that lined the streets during the procession. Manv unique features were displayed in the pageant, and among the best floats were those of the f)?den Portland Cement company, the Amalgamated Sugar company com-pany and the Boxelder high school. The complete lineup of the parade was as follows: fol-lows: Brigham City Military band, city officials. M. I. A., school supervisors, board of education, Boxelder high school float. Civic Improvement club. Salt Lake newsboys, Ogden LaJfc's' band. M erred Lumber- company. Amalgamated Sugar company. Consolidated Wagon & Machine company, Ogden Gas & Oil company, Sco-ville Sco-ville PaDer company, Corinne Concrete Tile company, Paige motor cars, second .section Salt Lake newsboys, Stohl Furniture Furni-ture company, Hyde Park band, cowboys and Indians, Hansen Furniture company, Utah-Idaho Motor company. Morgan Auto company, Christensen Music company, j A new idea in the distribution of ; peaches was inaugurated today and is per- naps the moat successful arrangement I ever attempted. The peaches were handed j out to the visitors in berry cups -md everyone could have as many as they j desired. ! The exhibit of fruit and vegetables was fairly good. No prizes were -offered lor : the best displays and therefore the dls-' 1 play was not up to the standard set in ; previous celebrations. This afternoun a racing programme was carried out and ! the visitors were thrilled with broncno (busting and rough riding by experts in j this line. Band concerts in the evening and dancing concluded the day's programme. The number of visitors was estimated at several thousand. |
