REPAIR CONTRACT IS ORDERED CANCELED The contract with the .1. P. Fowler Manufacturing: company for repair work on the county's automobiles was ordered canceled by the board of county commissioners commis-sioners yesterday morning. The action was taken upon tho rf commendation of E. C. Caihea.rt, county purchasing ngent. Mr. Cathiart submitted a report showing show-ing that tho cost for repair work on four automobiles sine the first of the year had totaled $22.ftL The bill was ordered paid. i The purchasing agent expressed the I opinion that t he work had cost about a , third more than it should have cost. He suggested that the cause of the relatively relative-ly high id of the work at a contract price of b cents an hour for the services ser-vices of expert rn'hanics had resulted from lack of specific equipment in the contracting company's plant for repair work upon each of the various makes of car?. He suggested that the expense might prove less if the cars were sent each to the, shop having the agency for its make.
