Show PRESIDENT TO ME SEISM-SPEECHES Will Arrive in Omaha on Thursday; Makes Address in Indianapolis Oct. 12. LOXG BRANCH, X. J., Oct. 2 President Wilson 's campaign programme up to election day was completed today at a conference which he held with Vance McCormick, " chairman of the Democratic national committee. The president also discussed politics with Henry Ford, automobile manufacturer and peace advocate, and Secretary of the Treasury MeAdoo. Henry Ford remained with the president presi-dent four hours and assured Mr. Wilson Wil-son that he was willing to do everything possible to bring about his election. He said he had made no plans for contributing contrib-uting to the Democratic campaign fund because he did not believe in such a course. " I think the office should seek the man, not the man the office, " declared de-clared Mr. Ford. Arrangements were completed for a trip of the president to Cincinnati, making mak-ing four visits that he will pay to the middle west. He will speak in Cincinnati Cincin-nati on October 26, under the auspices of tho City club. The president 's speaking programme outlined tonight includes tho following engagements: Omaha, Xeb., October 5; Shadow Lawn, October 7; Indianapolis, October 12; Pennsylvania day at Shadow Lawn, October 14; St. Louis and Ohio day at Shadow Lawn, October 17; Chicago, October Oc-tober 19 ; Farmers ' dnv at Shadow Lawn. October 21; Cincinnati, October Octo-ber 2b'. Mr. Wilson leaves here tomorrow night for Omaha, going by way of Philadelphia Phila-delphia nnd Chicjgo and reaching Omaha Oma-ha Thursday morning. Mrs. Wilson aud Secretary Tumulty will accompany him. He will return here Saturday morning. In addition to these speaking engagements, engage-ments, the president will deliver an address ad-dress at Shadow Lawn October 28 and will pay two visits to New York state, on dates not yet selected, Mr. McCormick McCor-mick said tonight that this programme will carry the president up to election day and that few, if any, additions will be made. Secretary McAiloo, who had planned to make several political speeches, .probably .prob-ably will not carry out his plans, because, be-cause, of public business necessitating his presence in Washington. The president has almost completed the selection of tho shipping board and the board created by congress to observe ob-serve the worki ngs of the eight -hour law for railroad employees. Two of the members of the shipping board probably prob-ably will be Bernard Baker of Baltimore Balti-more and William I)enn:an of San Francisco. |
