Show ALLEN CAR POPULAR AT NEW YORK SHOW New Four-Passenger "Classic" Attracts Attention From Show Goers. According to C. N. Carruthers, manager man-ager of the' Inter-Mountain Motor Car company, local Allen distributors, the opening" of the New York Auto show brought the announcement by the Al- len Motor company of a new four-pas-i senger ' 'Classic. 1 ' "that bids fair to vie with cars of this style selling for a much higher price. The tour-passenger Allen "Classic ' ' is built on the standard Allen chassis with 37 horsepower, four-cylinder motor mo-tor and 112-inch wheelbase, which makes possible a handsome and liberal-siaed liberal-siaed body, accommodating easily four grown persons. The attractive stream line body is finished in "Classic" brown with Spanish Span-ish brown upholstery, black radiator and fenders and cream colored wheels. The front seats are of the bucket tvpe with an eight-inch passage between. be-tween. The rear seat is thirty-eight inches wide, twenty inches deep, with sixteen inches leg room between the front of the rear seat and the back of the front seat, which clearly indicates that the Allen is not handicapped by a cramped rear compartment so common to four-passenger roadsters. Comfortable upholstery, long wheel-base, wheel-base, full floating rear axle and fifty-five-inch rear springs make riding- a comfort. The Stewart vacuum gas feed -with tank in rear, two-unit electric system for starting, lighting and ignition, full ventilating wind shield and demountable rims are indications that convenience has not been overlooked. The top is of genuine " Neverlcak. " There is a roomy compartment in the back opened from the rear, for spare tires, luggage and tools. |
