Show REPORT ON DAVIS ROAD FAVORABLE Favorable report to the senate will be made by the highways and lands committee com-mittee on Thoruley 's bill appropriating $100,000 for the state road through Davis Da-vis countv. This bill was before the committee at a conference yesterday when it wa-s decided de-cided to report the measure favorably if amended to provide that Davis county coun-ty would appropriate an amount to equal the state s contribution to the highway. Senator J. W. Thornley, author au-thor of the bill, expressed the belief that Davis county would be willing to do this. The purpose of the measure is to complete com-plete the line highway from Salt Lake to Ogden. linking tho two principal cities of the state. Most of the high-wav high-wav lies in Davis county. The committee also decided to report favorably on Colton's senate bill No. 58. eiviiiEr irrigation projects right of way over state lauds, for or without compensation, at the discretion of the state land board. Will Clarify Statutes. Favorable report is to be made in, the senate Monday by the committee on countv and municipal corporations on two bills killing dead -letters on the statute books. One bill eliminates from the statutes mention of park commissions commis-sions for cities where the commission form of government prevails and another an-other eliminates boards of public works in such cities. These commissions have not existed since the commission form was adopted by Salt Lake, but the statutes defining tho old boards were not repealed. |
