Show PEKALTY IS FIXED II WW PLOT Juarez Stewards Uncover Details of Conspiracy to 'Clean Up Country.' By International News Service. EL PASO, Tex., Feb. 6. The investigation inves-tigation into the "rinsing" wise of the mare Repose, attempted last Saturday, was conducted this afternoon by the Juarez stewards, "who handed out the following decision: "The suspension of Owner A. "Trade Mark will be branded on the rieht shoulder with the letters T. II. and G. ' and returned to A. E. Patterson Patter-son for breeding purposes only." The investigation tollowing the foiling foil-ing of the plan to run the good uuire Trade Mark for the cheap mare Repose in a race last Saturday disclosed well-laid well-laid plans to make a big killing all over the country. J. A. Chipps, an ex-saloon ex-saloon keeper in El Paso, who witnessed the document when A. E. Patterson purchased Trade Mark from J. W. Chipps said he was wired from San Francisco 500 to bet on the mare last Saturday, but, found that Stratton had forestalled him by placing wagers all over the country, thus compelling him. to accept a short price for his money. It was on the testimony of Chipps that Patterson was an innocent party to the transaction that caused the stewards to restore the latter to good standing. |
