Show LOPEZ MAN HUNT BILLS ARE UNPAID Commissioners of Two Counties to Confer In Effort to Settle Differences Dif-ferences in Matter. Differences of opinion as to which county shall pay certain bills incurred in the Lopez man hunt wiill be discussed dis-cussed nt a joint meeting botweou tho commissioners of Salt Lake county and Utah county to be hold next week". The local commissioners decided yesterday to ask tho Utah commissioners for a. conference on the question. About $1000 worth of bills resulting from tho big hunt are yet unpaid owing ow-ing to tho dispute. Tho Utah county commissioners have taken tho stand that inasmuch as the hunt in Utah county was under the complete direction direc-tion of Sheriff Andrew Smith, Jr., of Salt Lako county, tho bills should bo bo met by Salt Lako county, regardless regard-less ot tho fact that Lopoz committed threo murders in Utah county. T. E. Willey, couuty attorney, has given an opinion to the effect that Utah county should pay its proportion of tho expenses incurred in that county. |
