Two robbers, armed with revolvers, held up John Lu-cas, Lu-cas, paymaster of tho Brown Shoe com-nan',, com-nan',, here this afternoon, and robbed him of $10,(315. The theft took placo in front of a factory of the company, after which the bandits leaped into Lucas's automobilo and escaped. Pavmnster Lucas said this afternoon that 'tho amount stolen was $10,615, and that tho sum was Tully insured. Jdiss Helen Yancloavc, a telephone operator at the factory, told the po- jH lice sho recognized one of tho bandits jH as a man who liad been in tho factory several times seeking employment. She said both bandits came into the tele-phone tele-phone room this afternoon and asked whon tho paymaster would arrive. |
