This problem has led several of tho. high schools of the stato to an adjustment of the school year to tho needs of tho industries by which their communities aro supported. sup-ported. In soino communities it has become common practice lo declare vacations during the boot and othor harvest seasons sea-sons to give thu pupils au opportunity to be industrially useful. These vacation vaca-tion poriorls have in the main been made up hy Saturday sessions. This has Jed to some, complaints from the housewives that their daughters arc needed on Saturdays to assist iu the home work. J11 view of tho complaints, com-plaints, it is now suggested that the school year be shortened to soven and one-half months, with school sessions six days in each week. |
