Show AFTER "BOOTLEGGERS." Five Men and One Woman are Arrested In Boxeldcr County. Special to The Tribune. BRIGIIAM CITY. Feb. 12. A general roundup of "bootleggers" in Boxolder county lias been In progress for several days past, and as a result of recent work on tho part of officers six men ere now under arrest and awaiting trial for alleged al-leged bootlegging. Two private detectives, detect-ives, who have been successful In making convictions In the city for gambling, have been working In the western part of tho county the past few days and last night five men and one woman wcro brought to town, having been arrested for Illegally selling liquor. Mrs. F. C. Houghton was arrested at Promontory, while- at Lucln Tom Iler-rlngton Iler-rlngton and Robert Reese wore gathered In. At Kelton Frank Adams. Roland Toombs and A. L. Crandall wero arrested ar-rested by the detectives, who were also made deputy sheriffs before leaving Brig-ham. Brig-ham. Ono of the men 13 connected with the Grouse Creek Gun club and was arrested ar-rested for the alleged Illegal sale ot liquor In the clubrooms. Mrs, F. C. Houghton Is tho divorced wife of F. C. Houghton, one of the most prominent merchants of western Boxeldcr county. Some of the men wore given preliminary hearings today and placed under bonds to appear In court tomorow, and others are In the custody of tho sheriff. All the cases will be disposed of tomorrow In Judge FIgglns's court. There Is a probability that some of the cases will be appealed to the district court. |
