Show EDWARD B. HOLMES HID ATFIL BEST Victim of Lake Disaster Sleeps in Gra.ve Beside Girl He Was to Many. The body of Edward B. Holmes, who was drowned In Utah lake more than a weak ago, when the "launch In which he was riding with a group of Intimate friends suddenly capslznd, today lies In the City cemetery in a grave piled high with dowers, beside that of his sweetheart, sweet-heart, -Miss Vera Brown. Funeral services of an impressive nature na-ture wero held yesterday afternoon at the First Methodist church. T.hc- chapel was crowded, the gathering Including close acquaintances and fellow employees of Mr. Holmes from the Crane company. The casket was completely covered, with floral tributes. There were many 'boau-tlful 'boau-tlful set pieces In addition to the smaller designs on nearby tables. Bishop Ileber C. Iveraon of the Second ward. In his address, ad-dress, spoke with tenderness of tho fate which had come to Mr. Holmes on the eve of his marriage with Miss Brown. John Q. Crltchlow spoke briefly- Mr Ciitchlow consoled the bereaved relatives and friends and said that even In the suddenness of life there Is always consolation con-solation In the hereafter. The Rev. Francis B. Short closed the sendees witli prayer. Tho cortege which wondod Its way to the cemetery was an exceedingly largo one. The pallbearers were H. C- Beck. L. K. Shcttler, William Impey. Arthur Jenkins, T. J. Thomas and Herbert Iv Aldous. |
