On Monday of hist week The Tribune had tho dread-ful dread-ful accident on Utah lako and the drowning of six Salt. Lake people on a pleasure excursion thereon. There, wore numerous other fatalities reported also in the same paper. Yesterday morning the list was continued con-tinued by accounts of the drowning of four girls in a lake in Wisconsin, reported re-ported in an Applcton dispatch. Then thero was the account of four met: drowned in Luke Michigan off the city of Gary, .Indiana. Other accidents and fatalities' were the burning of a mat. to death under his automobile; the shooting of a man and his wife during a Colorado picnic; the loss of three lives in a storm in Xew York; three men badly hurt in an automobile accident, acci-dent, iu Los Angeles; the killing of the coroner of San Francisco in an auto-mobilo auto-mobilo accident; tho injuring of twenty persons in a trolley accident, at Cincinnati; Cin-cinnati; the gasoline explosion in Lo gan; a suicide in Denver, the drowning drown-ing of a child in a trout pond near Salt Lake City, all theso besides " number of funerals, the mention of the disastrous Mexican earthquake, and the horrid slaughters in Sinaloa, Mexico, Mexi-co, by the insurgents, who appear to be even moro active now than before peace was declared. Sunday seems to be a day of fatality, fatal-ity, and the Monday morning papers tcliing of them give a chill to the heart. |
