Show WOMAN'S SKELETON FOUND AT AMERICAN FORK Special to The Tribune. ' AMERICAN FORK, July 29. What appears ap-pears to be the skeleton of a young woman, wo-man, about twenty years of age, was uncovered by workmen who were digging dig-ging a trench for a pipe line, ln the western part of tho city today. The skull was lying face downward, and the rest of the bones lying close by, but not jointed, joint-ed, as they came apart when picked up. It was about two and a half or threi feet under the ground. There was nothing noth-ing found with It whereby it could be identified. Some of the old settlers think that It must be the skeleton of an Indian In-dian that was burled by the Indians ln an early day. before the whites came to this part of the country, as the oldest old-est living here can remember nothing of any ono being burled ln the locality whero the skeleton was found. The city marshal took charge of the bones and will undoubtedly bury them ln the City cemetery and It will probably nover be known who they belong to. Koarns Family Reunion. Special to The Tribune. GTJNNISON. July 29. One of the grandest celebrations that has been held at Gunnison for some tlmo was the. Kcarns reunion. The celebration was given at tho home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Aus-tin Kearns, tho occasion being the celebration cele-bration of Mrs Kearns's sixty-fourth birthday. Including their grandchildren, about forty members were In attendance, and an excellent programme, consisting of speeches, songs, etc.. was carried out. A sumptuous dinner was served. Mr. and Mrs. Kearns are numbered among the sturdy settlers of Gunnison. When Utah County Schools Open. Special to Tho Tribune. PROVO. -July 29. At a meeting held here today hy tho county school trustees, supervisors and principals It was decided to open the schools Monday. September 5. The school year will be thirty-four weeks for the grade schools and thirty-six thirty-six weeks for the high schools. A two weeks' vacation will be given for the Christmas and New Year's holidays, commencing com-mencing December 23, |
