Show (KB HIES 10 CROFT DEATH Both Telephone and Light Com-panies Com-panies Represented at Inquest In-quest by Counsel. Special to The Tribune OGDEN", July 20. With an array of legal counsel present, tho coroner's Jury Impaneled lo fix the responslbiity of the death of G. A. Croft, who was killed by eloctrlcity on the afternoon of July 23, reassembled in the cltyi council chamber cham-ber this morning. The Inquest is being conducted , by Judge J. D. Murphy, with County Attorney David Jenson appearing appear-ing for the state. Croft was employed as a cable splicer by tho Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone company "at the J.Jmo he met his death from the full voltage of a high-tension wire of the Utah Light & Railway com pany while he was making wire connections connec-tions on" top of a pole between Adams and Jefferson avenues on Twenty-fourth street. At tlia Inquest today the Utah Light & Railway company was represented by C. R. Ilolllngsworth; the telephone company com-pany by H. R. MacMlIlan of Salt Lake, and Croft's widow by Halverson & Pratt. Manager Dan Decker of the Utah Xlght & Ralway company was the first witness wit-ness called this morning. He said that the pole upon which Croft was working" at the time of his death was a combination combi-nation pole used by the telephone and light companies. A number of other witnesses were called during tho day, Including James Folkman, the helper who was an eye-witness to Croft's death. It is apparent that tho telephone company will attempt to show before the Inquest Is concluded, or at the trial of the damage suit which will probably prob-ably result, that after Crofts death an electrician in the employ of the light company climbed the polo and made some changes ln the wires and tttelr insulation. insula-tion.
