Show DEBTS OF EXHIIER . EXGEEDjre ASSETS Overpaid Subscriptions, 'Result of Circulation Contest Before Assignment, Are Large. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, July 29. With its assets falling fall-ing short of its liabilities by more than $1000, tho creditors of the Ogden Morning Examiner may not realize the full amount of their claims, despite the fact, that B. R Bowman, the manager of the morning newspaper, made a statement at the time tne assignment was made, two weeks ago. in which he said that the assets would more than offset the liabilities, and that every creditor of the morning paper would bo- paid in full. According .to the statement of the Pln-gree Pln-gree National bank, to whom the asslgn-mSnntwn8 asslgn-mSnntwn8 made, the total liabilities are $10,262.24, while the assets, which include in-clude uncollected advertising accounts, onice supplies and fixtures, nmount to S913o,S6. James PIngree. the assignee, n his o-eport. to the district court says that -many of the outstanding accounts included in the Examiner's assets are of uncertain value, by reason of their doubtful collectibility. Is the result of overpaid subscriptions sub-scriptions received by the Examiner a few weeks before the assignment as a result of a circulation contest. These subscriptions sub-scriptions will be taken care of by the Examiner Publishing company, which Is now getting out the paper. The PIngree National bank is tho largest larg-est creditor, holding notes against the newspaper amounting to ?1500. The Giles-McAllister advertising agency of Salt Lake also holds a claim for SG00 ?.8!F.sf lh? morning paper. Among the liabilities Is a claim for four scholarships scholar-ships from the Ogden Business college amounting to $175. These were some of the prizes which were awarded by the newspaper In its circulation contest which closed a short time before the assignment as-signment was made. |
