Show ANOTHER OLD PIONEER CROSSES GREAT DIVIDE Special to The Tribune. OGDEN. April 22. Another of the old pioneers of Weber county has gone to his roward. After a long illness from general gen-eral debllitv, Alexander Brown died at his homo. 30t Second streot, last night, surrounded by the members of his family. fam-ily. Alexander Brown was born In North Carolina and came to Utah, July 29. 1S47. settling In Salt Lake City, with many other members of the Mormon battalion which crossed the plains under the leadership lead-ership of his father. Durlnc the spring of ISO, attracted at-tracted bv the influx or gold-seekers, who were hurrying to California, he Joined the throng, living In the Sunset state until 1S5S. when he returned to Ogden, where ho had since lived. Six children, twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-six twenty-six great-grandchildren survive him. The children now living are Mrs. Mary E. Taplln. Mrs. Lois Ilutchlns, Riley Brown and Mrs. Effie Allen of Ogden, apd James L. Brown of Idaho, The funeral services will be held at the Lynn ward meeting house Sunday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. Friends may see the remains at the family resldenco Saturday evening and Sunday morning. |
