Show WOMEN'S CLUBS "Dramatic Day" has come to be looked upon as quite an annual event by members mem-bers of the Ladies' Literary flub, and the meeting next Friday will be a noteworthy note-worthy one in many ways. Musical numbers will bo given, but as the leading lead-ing feature of the programme will be a clover little skit arranged by Mrs. E. B. P.'Umer. It will be ji literary meeting of the women on Mount Olympus and in It will be talcc-offs on many of the most noted characters of the drama, anclpiil and modern. The way some of the characters char-acters are being given by the members of the club, as shown at rehearsals, gives evidence of a scream. Unfortunately Unfortu-nately only club members will bo admitted ad-mitted and the men arc Jforover barred. From what can he learnod of the plans for the day it will he one of the really good hits of the season. Mrs. E. M. West delightfully entertained enter-tained the members of tho Friday Luncheon club at her homo in Eighth avenue Friday afternoon. A 1 o'clock luncheon was served, after which tho remainder re-mainder of the afternoon was spent in cards. The members of the Sewso club were entertained Friday afternoon by Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur D. Lynn at her home, 12.n, First avenue. After a dainty lunclicon was served the remainder of the afternoon was spent In sewing and a social chat. One of the most Interesting meetings of the afternoon was that held at the Ladles' Literary club Friday afternoon. Mis. E. O. Latherwood read a delightful delight-ful paper on "Spirit of the Age and the Early Church." after which D. II. Chris-lensen. Chris-lensen. superintendent of the public schools, gave an Intensely interesting talk on "Some Proposed Changes In the School Curriculum." Tho programme was concluded by a violin solo and a piano nolo which were delightfully given by Miss Margaret Duvall ad Miss Romania Ro-mania Hyde. |
