Show LITTLE DESERT TOWN OF NEVADA IS SAD AURORA. Nov.. April 22. Mark Twain's death comes with peculiar sadness sad-ness to this little town out In the southern south-ern desert, for In his wanderings ho onco lived here. It was In his brief career In mines and prospecting that ho located In Aurora nnd his description of tho loss of the "Wild Wost" claim Is the story of his venturo In this camp. Tho cabin he occupied here still stands. Some time ago ono of the old settlors who knew Clemens sent him a shingle from the roof of the shack. In due time Clemens answered, thanking the sender, but adding that "It must have been the only shingle on the cabin, as the last recollection he had of the shack was thnt It leaked llko a sieve and ho failed to recognize the shack as an old friend." |
