Show FOREST FIRES CAUSE LOSS IN CALIFORNIA RENO, Nov.. Aug. 21. Tonight, after two days' work on the part of COO volunteer vol-unteer fire-lighters, the town of Loyal-ton, Loyal-ton, In Sierra county, California, twenty-five twenty-five miles northwest of here, Is out of danger of destruction by a forest fire, which has burned over a district nine miles square. The fire originated from a spark of a 'donkey engine and has already dono damage to tho extent of $200,000 to timber tim-ber lands owned by tho California White Pine Lumber company. A ring of back fires surrounds the burned district and unless a high wind comes the town Is out of danger. |
