Show SEVEN DEVILS MINER VICTIM OF MURDER Special to The Tribune. WEISEP., Ida., Aug. 21. Sheriff, Cour-dln Cour-dln and County Attorney Richards returned re-turned this morning from Seven Devils, whither they went to Investigate the cause of tho death of Joseph Brown! a well-known miner of that section, who disappeared more than a year ago. Brown's body was found last week, after having been sought ever since the disappearance. dis-appearance. The remains of tho body were found within half a mile of his cabin. Tho skull was In a fair state of preservation, but only a few bones of the rest of tho body remain, having evidently evi-dently been carried away by animals. A bullet hole was found In the back of the skull, tho bullet, ranging upward and coming out at the forehead. His hat. In good condition, was lying near the body with a hole In the brim where tho bullet went through It in coining out. Tho holo was made with a .22-callber bullet, evidently at fairly close range. A rifle belonging to Brown was found near tho body; also n short piece of rope. It Is surmised that Brown had gone out totget his horse when he was murdered mur-dered He was supposed to have had considerable money on his person when he was killed. The body was found at the head of an isolated gulch by sheep herders, who were looking for stray sheep. Brown had a number of valuable valu-able mining claims In tho Seven Devils copper mining district. Suspicions have boon entertained by resldonts of the Seven Devils since the disappearance of Brown that he had been murdered.
