Show SETTLEMENT II LOOKS PIMSIf Representatives of Land Companies Com-panies Appear to Be Getting Get-ting Together. For tho purpose of coming to an amiable settlement of tho division of the expenses io bo incurred by improvements improve-ments which have .been ordered by the board of river commissioners among the various parties taking water from tho Jordnn river, a meeting of representatives representa-tives of the various canal companies, tho city engineer and Commissioner J. Fowson Smith, was held in .Judge Armstrong's Arm-strong's courtroom Monday. j Tho meeting was called b' Commissioner Commis-sioner Smith. Each of tho eomianiesi talcing water from tho river had representatives repre-sentatives at the meeting, 'together with the city, and Commissioner Smith presented pre-sented a plan, which they will take back t'o their respectivo boards, io be considered. No definite action was taken at the meeting Monday as to the division of tho oxpensos, but it was the opinion of Mr. Smith that the companies com-panies should share equally. The total cost of tho improvements contemplated will bo about . 16,000. The improvements to bo made will be along tho lino of tho construction of new dams, and ir. is understood that; the intakes arc in a poor condition, '-hose, too, will need repairing, it is said. |
