Show Mali Boys Will Leave This Evening for Their Trip to Wyoming. BATTERY' TO TRAIN WITH THE FOURTH ARTILLERY Much Valuable Experience to Be Gained in the Maneuvers. This evening two spocinl trains will leavo the Oregon Short Lino depot carrying carry-ing 350 members of tho Utah National Guard to Dale Creek, Wyo.. near which place will be hold the biennial camp of Instruction. Tho guardsmen will bo as-ocmbled as-ocmbled with tho regulars and will bo given everything In connection with actual service. The Utah guard has made a good showing during tho past two camps, and Gener.U Wedgwood is certain that tho guard will not fail this year. The llrst train will carry the Infantry organizations, hospital corp3 and the signal sig-nal corps and will be followed closely by tho second section, which will carry thu battory and tho property oi the battery and the signal corps. Sergeant Berkheart of tho signal corps left ror Dale Creek Monday morning on an advance train carrying all heavy equipment and will havo everything in readiness for unloading unload-ing the trains into the escort wagons. It Is the plan of the boya to sleep in shelter tents at Dale Creek; that is, If tho weather will permit, otherwise the guard will sleop on the train. The train will bo emiippod with special dining cars and tho guardsmen will has-e the best food possible for such a trlpj Nice Littlo March. Following the night at Dale Creek the boys will commence tho walk to the camp site, which Is about sixteen miles to tho north. The walk Is up and down hills, but should be completed by noon, In order to havo the camp up and everything every-thing regulated at nightfall. Whllo In camp the batter' will ho attached at-tached to tho Fourth artillery, and the signal corps to I company, signal corps. Tho battcrymon will all ride, either on horses or on guns. The majority of the men from tho corps will be mounted, tho remaining members riding on tho escort wagons The two organizations have to make tho greater distances during maneuvers man-euvers and naturally ride. Tho armory on Plerpont street has been a busy placo the past two days, as everything every-thing for tho camp has been put in order. or-der. Tho boys aro all anxious to commence com-mence tho trip and will work hard to win honors during tho maneuvers. |
