Moyer was today rc-clocted president of i the Western Federation of Miners by a Jarsc majority, and It was voted to hold tho next convention at Butte. Thero was little opposition to the reelection re-election of Charles E. Mahoncy of Butte as vice president, but strong opposition developed against, the retalnmcnt In office of-fice of Ernest Mills as secretary-treasurer, and tho result of this vote will not be lenown until tonight. Thero Is also a vigorous fight over tho makeup of the executive board, but tho prediction Is made that the "administration "administra-tion ticket" will be chosen. I Butte Gets Convention. Butte had a runaway victory In the contest for the next convention. Cripple Creek 'receiving forty-eight votes iind Denver only five. In addition to having the oldest and largest local, Butte promised prom-ised a free hall for the d&logates, free offices of-fices for tho general officers and a general gen-eral good time for thoso attending the convention. The convention Is cxpqcled to close tonight to-night at midnight. Prosldent Moyer said this afternoon he did not expect to make an extended speech at the lime his election elec-tion was formally announced, but would merely express a. few words of thanks.
