Harms, a government govern-ment in cut inspector at St. Louis, who, in tendering his resignation to Secretary Secre-tary Wilson, made serious charges against tho meat inspection system at tho National Stock Yards in 13a at St. Louis, 111., and demanded an investigation investiga-tion relative to his allegations. An immediate im-mediate nnd thorough investigation into Mr. Harms 's charge concerning the East St. Louis packing houses was today to-day ordered, and lo that end two government, gov-ernment, inspectors have been ordered there. "When they have completed their investigations, the facts developed will be reported to Secretary Wilson, who is at his home at, T.racr, ' la., but will return re-turn here next Tuesday. The letter of Inspector Harms to tho secretary, making the. charges and demanding de-manding an investigation, has been received, re-ceived, but the rcsigntttion has not yd reached here. Tt, was stated, however, that it would be accepted immediately upon its receipt. Dr. Alonx.o B. Molvin, chief of the bureau of animal industry, under whoso iiumediato supervision the meat inspection service comes, will prepare pre-pare a statement showing the conditions condi-tions in tho Knst St. Louis stock yards, particularly with reference, lo the number num-ber of animahs slaughtered and condemned. |
