Show ONE KILLED, TWO DYING AFTER BATTLE KIEFER, Okla.. Dec. 1. Molvln Ooley was killed and two other men probably fatally wounded In a street fight with revolvers re-volvers here today. The Injured arc Deputy Marshal Gooch and Thomas Box-Icy, Box-Icy, a carpenter. The shooting grew out of the killing a month ago of Homer Ooley, a gambler, by Marshal K. P. Mighnote. When Melvln Ooley, Homer's brother, met Marshal Mighnote and Deputy Marshal Mar-shal Gooch. he took them to task Tor the death of his brother. The argument wnxed warm and finally Oolev drew a revolver and shot Gooch. inflicting a fatal wound. As Gooch dropped lothe ground, Ooley struck him about the hea'd with a rifle stock. Illghnole, who had been taken by surprise, sur-prise, had by this time drawn his revolver re-volver and began firing. Ooley returned the lire, and In the exchange of shots Ooley was killed and Boxley. a bystander, was shot "n the head and probably fatally fatal-ly wounded. For a time following t he affray a pitched battle, between the friends of Ooley and Ihe sheriffs was thrcutcned. |
